The Gap Between a Program and a Capability System

Most organizations have run programs. Agile transformations. Leadership academies. OKR rollouts. AI tool deployments. They have the certifications, the dashboards, the completion rates. What they often do not have is durable change in how work actually gets done, how decisions actually get made, or how their people actually perform under pressure.

A Capability Accelerator is not a program. It is a focused, time-boxed engagement designed to build one high-priority capability domain into the operational fabric of your organization — with behavioral measurement, embedded coaching, and outcome accountability from day one.

In 60–90 days, we target the specific gap your Capability Readiness Review identified, embed the right architecture, and leave your organization with a system — not a slide deck.

What a program delivers
  • closeHigh completion rates with no behavioral transfer
  • closeFrameworks adopted without execution infrastructure
  • closeConsultant dependency — results stop when the engagement ends
  • closeActivity metrics: attendance, certifications, adoption rates
  • closeA slide deck. Sometimes a portal. Often a new acronym.
What a Capability Accelerator builds
  • check_circleBehavioral systems embedded in daily work and decisions
  • check_circleExecution infrastructure that outlasts the engagement
  • check_circleLeadership accountability connected to measurable outcomes
  • check_circleKPI-driven outcomes: decision quality, throughput, capability maturity
  • check_circleA system your team owns — that compounds over time.

The Five Capability Accelerators

Each Accelerator targets one of the five domains of the Helix Capability Model™. Every engagement is scoped to your specific organizational context — not a generic curriculum delivered the same way to every client.

Strategy-to-Execution Alignment Accelerator

Close the gap between what leadership decides and what teams deliver.

Most organizations have a strategy. Few have the architectural systems that translate that strategy into daily decisions and measurable team behavior. This Accelerator designs the governance structures, portfolio alignment mechanisms, and execution accountability systems that make strategy visible — and deliverable — at every level of the organization.

What it delivers

  • check_circle Strategy-to-execution alignment diagnostic across all active portfolios
  • check_circle Governance redesign: from milestone oversight to outcome accountability
  • check_circle OKR infrastructure built from strategic priority down — not from team up
  • check_circle Executive-ready performance dashboard connected to real decisions
  • check_circle Accountability cadence: weekly decision loops, 30/60/90 outcome reviews
schedule  75–90 days person  Organizations where strategic priorities exist but are not reflected in team-level execution
flag Target outcome: Strategic outcomes visible in team performance within one quarter
02 Leadership & Organizational Maturity

Leadership Behavior & Accountability Accelerator

Build the behavioral infrastructure that makes leadership development stick.

Leadership training alone does not produce leadership behavior. This Accelerator builds the accountability infrastructure — peer observation, 360 feedback, behavioral measurement at 30/60/90 days, and explicit consequence structures — that translates learning into visible change in how leaders lead. We do not run another workshop. We build the system that makes workshops matter.

What it delivers

  • check_circle Leadership behavior audit: identifying the gap between stated values and observable behavior
  • check_circle Psychological safety infrastructure — accountability for manager behavior, not just awareness
  • check_circle Behavioral measurement system: 360 feedback, peer observation, team-level safety scoring
  • check_circle Cohort-based peer learning with embedded coaching and follow-through architecture
  • check_circle Manager accountability framework tied to team performance metrics
schedule  60–90 days person  Organizations where leadership development investments are not producing visible behavior change
flag Target outcome: Measurable shift in leadership behavior scores and team psychological safety metrics

Execution Discipline & Performance System Accelerator

Replace activity metrics with a performance system that drives decisions.

If your leadership meetings spend more time debating data accuracy than making decisions, you do not have a data problem — you have a performance system problem. This Accelerator redesigns the measurement infrastructure so that KPIs, OKRs, and governance mechanisms serve decisions rather than report activity. We build the decision cadence, accountability architecture, and outcome measurement system that turns data into action.

What it delivers

  • check_circle Performance system audit: mapping current metrics against strategic outcomes they are meant to serve
  • check_circle Metric rationalization: reducing 47 metrics to 5 strategic performance priorities with accountable owners
  • check_circle Decision cadence design: weekly 20-minute decision loops replacing monthly data review meetings
  • check_circle Flow optimization: identifying and eliminating bottlenecks in how work moves through your organization
  • check_circle Executive performance dashboard redesigned to serve decisions — not display data
schedule  60–75 days person  Organizations where governance and measurement infrastructure exists but does not produce faster or better decisions
flag Target outcome: Decision velocity and strategic outcome rate measurably improved within one quarter
04 Content, Experience Design & Immersive Learning

Immersive Learning Architecture Accelerator

Build learning infrastructure that transfers to how work actually gets done.

Completion rates are not capability. Organizations with high-performing L&D functions share one characteristic: their learning is inseparable from the doing. This Accelerator redesigns your learning architecture around behavioral transfer — cohort-based projects, peer coaching, observable performance moments, and measurement systems that track skill application in real work, not course completion in a platform.

What it delivers

  • check_circle Learning architecture audit: identifying the transfer gap between training completion and behavioral change
  • check_circle Cohort design: restructuring learning around real work problems, not content delivery
  • check_circle Peer coaching infrastructure: observation, feedback loops, and behavioral accountability built in
  • check_circle Observable performance moments: designing situations where trained skills are explicitly required and visible
  • check_circle Behavioral measurement system: tracking skill transfer at 30/60/90 days post-learning
schedule  60–90 days person  Organizations investing in L&D programs with high completion rates and low observable behavior change
flag Target outcome: Measurable skill transfer to daily work within 90 days of learning deployment

AI Capability Accelerator

Move from AI deployment to AI capability — where tools actually influence decisions.

AI Deployment Theater is the most expensive form of Capability Theater in the enterprise today. High adoption rates, significant license spend, and tools that influence almost no actual decisions. This Accelerator conducts a human-in-the-loop audit of where AI tools are — and are not — influencing outcomes, then builds the human readiness, workflow integration, decision rights, and trust infrastructure that turns AI tools into AI capability.

What it delivers

  • check_circle Human-in-the-loop audit: mapping where AI tools are used vs. where they influence decisions
  • check_circle AI readiness assessment: skills, trust, workflow integration, and decision rights across target functions
  • check_circle Workflow integration design: embedding AI tools at the natural decision point in real work
  • check_circle Decision rights framework: defining where human judgment and AI output interact and how
  • check_circle AI capability measurement: tracking decision influence rate, not adoption rate
schedule  75–90 days person  Organizations that have deployed AI tools at scale with low decision influence and unclear ROI
flag Target outcome: AI decision influence rate measurably increased; responsible AI capability system in place

How a Capability Accelerator Works

1

Week 1–2

Diagnostic & Baseline

We open every Accelerator with a deep diagnostic of the target domain. Not a survey — a structured assessment mapping current state, identifying Capability Theater patterns, and establishing the baseline metrics we will move against over the engagement. You cannot improve what you have not measured precisely.

2

Week 2–4

Architecture Design

We co-design the capability system with your team — not for your team. Governance structures, accountability frameworks, measurement systems, learning architectures, or AI integration designs are built to fit your organizational context. No templates copied from another client.

3

Week 4–10

Embedded Implementation

Implementation happens inside your actual work — not in a training room or a separate workstream. We embed alongside your teams, running behavioral measurement at 30 and 60 days, coaching leaders through the accountability moments that most programs avoid, and adjusting the system based on what the data shows.

4

Week 10–13

Outcome Review & Handover

The engagement closes with a formal outcome review against the baseline metrics established in Week 1. We document what was built, what moved, and what to watch. The system belongs to your organization — we build your internal capability to sustain it, not dependency on us to run it.

Is a Capability Accelerator Right for You?

An Accelerator is the right fit when you have a clearly identified capability gap and the organizational readiness to act on it in a focused timeframe.

check_circle
You have completed a Capability Readiness Review

The Review identifies which domain to target. The Accelerator is the focused intervention in that domain.

check_circle
You have 1–2 high-priority gaps, not a full enterprise redesign

If multiple domains need work simultaneously, an Enterprise Program may be a better fit.

check_circle
You can commit a leadership sponsor and a working team for 60–90 days

Accelerators are embedded, not delivered from outside. They require active organizational participation.

check_circle
You want measurable outcomes, not a deliverable

If the end state is a report or a slide deck, this is not the right engagement. Accelerators are measured by outcomes.

Not a fit: you want to train everyone quickly

Accelerators are focused engagements, not scale programs. The ADAPT Learning Paths serve large-scale practitioner enablement.

"The ADAPT program has been a game changer for our org. By focusing on outcomes and really digging in to encourage experimentation, we've been able to create an environment where employees take ownership of their individual and shared transformation journey. Unlike traditional frameworks, we're not just doing different things — we're thinking differently, and the results speak for themselves."
